The Rainbow Project

I am Ioannis Antoniadis and after almost 20 years living in UK with my family took the great decision to move to Greece and make the country our new home, seeking a free, healthier, more natural way of living.
Though currently living by the sea in a picturesque part of Peloponnesus, Kardamili, where I run an art gallery and my wife gives Thai Yoga Massage and run cources for the locals a series of extraordinary events and adventures starting in summer 2004 led us to this particular valley high up 1.100m above sea level on the mountains of Peloponnesus.
Since day one I felt deep in my heart a calling that my purpose was to assist in the creation of a Healing Centre in this blessed area.

Now as I am planning the next step I am looking to realize the following aims in this community:

• First the Creation of a Healing Centre at the heart of the valley. The area was well known from the ancient times as a Healing Place believed to possess magical qualities. The nearby tranquil Temple of Artemis was known all over Greece for its Healers who will treat patients from obsessions… a disease quite rampant in our time. Around the Temple was created a vibrant village that assisted the visitors and the Healers.

Along these lines the vision seems to follow the ancient archetype.

There is an increasing and urgent global need for viable, sustainable human settlements.

The creation of an Ecovillage as a second step will provide environmental, social, economic and spiritual sustainability and an enhanced quality of life for all. Ecovillage communities are cohesive social structures, united by common social and/or spiritual values. Working with the simple principle of not taking more away from the Earth than one gives back, ecovillages are consciously diminishing their ecological footprint.

• The village could be a creative home for a large number of likeminded people from all over the world. Together, and with the people who will visit us each year, we will be exploring the challenge and task of creating new ways of living to promote.

• As we try to clear much of the clutter out of our lives a simpler way of living will enable us to focus on and appreciate the important things in life, to have time for one another, and to exercise our creativity.

• To bring back to a country who forgot, the spirit of nature and assist the transition process by encouraging the respect for the countryside and its wildlife through understanding and acknowledging our relationship with and dependence on it.

• To achieve and promote organic diet through organic cultivation practices and a healthy holistic living.

• To create a culture of self development through paying attention to the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of ourselves in balance.

• To clear much of the clutter out of our lives through a simpler way of living, enabling us to focus on and appreciate the important things in life, to have time for one another, and to exercise our creativity.

• To establish a strong sense of community beyond the boundaries of nationality and work within local and international arena.

• To produce as much of our own fruit and vegetables as possible and move in the direction of self-sufficiency.

• To provide Services and Training in a variety of fields (Health & Healing, Ecology, Organic Agriculture, The Arts, Education, and Science).

As our service to the world, we will aim to pioneer, inspire, educate, encourage and share our experience with everyone who is open to the vision of one brotherhood - sisterhood the human family.
